7 Fundamental Habits of Generosity

September 6, 2014 By Sharon

Generosity only exists when a generous ACTION takes place. Thinking generously. Believing in generosity. Talking about being generous. None of those things matter unless they lead to a generous action.

Heart world globe conceptIf you read this blog, I’m assuming you already want to live generously. You know why it’s important to the world and to your physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being, and I don’t need to convince you WHY.

But I can help you with the how. The secret to being the person you want to be and having the impact you want to have is to take what you know in your head and turn it into a daily practice. Everything changes when you transform your knowledge into habit. When generosity is a habit, you just take actions every day that are generous– without even thinking about it.

There are 7 Fundamental Habits that are critical to living generously:

  1. Physical Health
  2. Mindfulness
  3. Connecting With Others
  4. Connecting With Yourself
  5. Gratitude
  6. Simplicity
  7. Philanthropy

Each of these habits requires that you be generous with yourself, with others, and the world. Over the next few weeks, we’ll look in-depth at each of these habits, WHY they are important to your generous life, and HOW you can make them a habit in your life.
